Perpetual Adoration, Holy Hour, & Benediction

Perpetual Adoration

Our purpose is to provide an opportunity for all parishioners to spend time with Christ Jesus, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament on the altar.  Time spent at Adoration strengthens our individual lives, our parish, our community, and our world.

It is our hope that everyone will spend time at Adoration according to each person’s circumstances; yet, Jesus can never be left alone on the altar, so it is essential that some parishioners commit to a regular hour time slot (or as a substitute) so that Adoration can be available to all.

Perpetual Adoration is the practice of the continuous exposition and adoration of the Eucharist, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.  Perpetual Adoration is held in the Adoration Chapel near the parish office every day.

Contact Sharon Wheaton at adoration@stjameswv.org or call (304) 283-1224 if you’re interested in participating in this ministry.

Holy Hour and Benediction

Holy Hour is held every Wednesday at 6:00pm at St. James, at the closing of which is Benediction. Holy Hour is followed by Mass at 7:00pm.
